Bituminous waterproof coatings are typically modified with asphalt and are known for their cost-effectiveness and reliable waterproofing performance. They are commonly used in road engineering, underground structures, and large-area waterproofing applications, although their flexibility and aging resistance are relatively limited compared to polymer-based materials.

 

In addition, specialty coatings such as silicone-based waterproof materials and crystalline penetration systems are used in specific or repair-oriented applications. These materials often provide enhanced durability and, in some cases, self-healing properties, making them valuable in specialized engineering scenarios.
