Conventional tapes dry out over time, becoming hard and brittle, which leads to cracking and failure. Our butyl self adhesive tape remains permanently soft and flexible. It does not cure or harden over time.
It is manufactured from butyl rubber with added tackifiers and anti-aging agents. The tape is self-adhesive: simply peel off the release film and apply it to the surface. No heat, no glue, and no special tools are required.
The tape performs well in a temperature range from -30°C to 90°C. It remains flexible in cold conditions and stable under high temperatures without melting or flowing.
It provides excellent sealing performance and is impermeable to air, water, and vapor.
Applications of This Butyl Self Adhesive Tape
Our butyl self adhesive tape is designed for sealing seams, joints, and gaps. It is widely used for roof joints, wall cracks, pipe penetrations, windows, RVs, and boats.
The tape exhibits strong adhesion to a wide range of substrates, including concrete, metal, glass, plastic, and existing waterproofing membranes.
It has a peel strength of ≥1.0 N/mm and maintains a stable bond over time. The tape accommodates substrate movement caused by thermal expansion and contraction without breaking or losing its seal.
Outdoor Durability and Factory Information
This butyl self adhesive tape provides long-term outdoor durability of more than 10 years. It is resistant to UV radiation, ozone, acids, and alkalis.
