Concrete structures contain various joints, such as construction joints, expansion joints, and settlement joints. These joints are potential pathways for water ingress.

Our flexible water stop is designed to prevent water penetration through these joints. It is installed before concrete pouring. Once the concrete is cast, it encases the water stop, and the system becomes an integral part of the structure, providing internal sealing of the joint.

We offer three types of water stops:

  • Elastic rubber type, which provides high flexibility and elongation
  • Swelling type, which expands upon contact with water to fill gaps
  • Steel-edge type, which provides enhanced structural strength

The appropriate type can be selected according to project requirements.

How This Flexible Water Stop Accommodates Structural Movement

 

Buildings are subject to continuous movement, including settlement, thermal expansion in high temperatures, and contraction in low temperatures. These movements occur at joint locations.

Our flexible water stop is designed to accommodate such movement. Rubber-based types offer elongation of ≥300%, ensuring resistance to tearing or displacement during structural deformation.

The product also withstands significant hydrostatic pressure. Medium embedded types provide resistance of 0.6–1.2 MPa, while steel-edge types offer higher performance.

Rubber-based water stops typically provide a service life of 10–20 years in underground or outdoor environments. Steel-edge types offer extended durability.

The system is compatible with concrete, steel, and masonry structures.

Installation and Factory Information

 

The flexible water stop is installed prior to concrete pouring. It is positioned and fixed at the joint location. Concrete is then cast around it, fully embedding the material. After curing, a continuous watertight sealing system is formed.
