Neoprene bitumen primer is a cold-applied surface preparation material used prior to the installation of waterproofing membranes.
It is applied as a thin, uniform coating by brush or roller onto concrete or mortar substrates.
After application, the primer forms a thin film that penetrates and seals capillary pores within the substrate, reducing vapor transmission and improving surface uniformity.
Following a typical drying period of approximately 30 minutes (depending on temperature and humidity conditions), the substrate is ready for membrane installation.
Functional Mechanism and System Compatibility
The primer functions as an adhesion promoter between the concrete substrate and waterproofing membranes.
It improves bonding performance by creating a compatible interface layer between dissimilar materials such as concrete and bitumen-based or selected polymer membranes.

Application is carried out by brush or roller in a thin, even layer.
Drying time varies depending on ambient temperature and humidity conditions; higher temperatures and lower humidity result in faster drying.
The primer provides improved adhesion and surface sealing performance for subsequent waterproofing layers.
