Technical Parameters
This cross-laminated reactive membrane consists of a dual-layer HDPE film system. Two HDPE films are laminated at a 45° cross orientation, forming a high-strength composite structure.
Compared with conventional single-layer polyethylene films, this cross-laminated structure significantly improves tear resistance and puncture resistance, while maintaining excellent dimensional stability under thermal exposure.
A reactive modified bitumen adhesive layer is applied on both sides of the membrane.
Reactive Bonding Mechanism with Concrete Substrates
The adhesive layer of this cross-laminated reactive membrane is designed to chemically and physically bond with cementitious materials.
When installed against fresh cementitious slurry or concrete, a dual bonding mechanism occurs:
- Physical adhesion through mechanical interlocking
- Chemical reaction between modified bitumen and cement hydration components
This results in a fully bonded system that eliminates lateral water migration between membrane and substrate.
The system is therefore resistant to water channeling and provides long-term waterproof integrity.
Additionally, the membrane exhibits self-sealing properties for minor punctures below 2 mm, enhancing overall system durability.
Installation Flexibility and System Applications
This cross-laminated reactive membrane supports multiple installation methods depending on project conditions:
- Wet application using cementitious slurry on damp substrates
- Dry application on prepared surfaces
- Loose-laid installation for specific roofing systems
- Pre-applied installation for cast-in-place concrete systems
The system is suitable for sloped roofs, green roofs, and below-grade waterproofing applications.
The membrane is available in 1 meter and 2 meter widths, reducing seam quantity and improving installation efficiency.
