Many conventional waterproofing membranes fail in green roof applications due to root intrusion. This green roof waterproof membrane is specifically designed to solve that problem.
We combine two protection mechanisms:
First, chemical root resistance. A specialized root-inhibiting additive is incorporated into the bitumen layer. When root tips come into contact with the membrane, growth is effectively inhibited.
Second, physical reinforcement. The polyester reinforcement mat provides high mechanical strength, preventing roots from penetrating the structure.
This product has been used in projects by China Railway, where it demonstrated stable and reliable performance.
How This Green Roof Waterproof Membrane Keeps Roofs Dry and Stable
The base layer of this green roof waterproof membrane is SBS modified bitumen, providing the same high-level waterproof performance as our standard membranes. Water penetration is completely blocked.
Seam joints are installed using torch welding, forming fully sealed and durable connections that eliminate leakage pathways.
The membrane also offers strong resistance to chemical attack. Green roof soil often contains fertilizers with acidic or alkaline properties, but the membrane remains stable without degradation.
It is also resistant to mold growth, ensuring long-term durability in rooftop garden environments.
Technical Performance, Testing Standards, and Factory Assurance
This product complies with GB/T 35468-2017 root resistance standards and has been fully tested for green roof applications.

The membrane maintains flexibility at temperatures as low as -25°C and heat resistance up to 105°C. Puncture resistance exceeds 300 N.
